Frequently Asked Questions

Percentage vs. Percentage Point?
Percentage is a ratio (e.g., grew by 10%). Percentage Point is the arithmetic difference between two percentages. Example: Rate moving from 2% to 3% is a 50% growth, or a 1 percentage point increase.
How to calculate a discount price?
Subtract the discount amount from the original price. Formula: Price Γ— (1 - DiscountRate). For 20% off, multiply by 0.8.
What is negative growth?
When the new value is less than the old value, the change rate is negative. This indicates a decrease or drop in value.
Why is (A/B)*100 same as A/(B/100)?
This is basic arithmetic. Both operations result in A divided by B, then multiplied by 100.
How many decimal places are shown?
We default to two decimal places for clarity, but won't show decimals for whole integer results.
What is Year-over-Year (YoY)?
YoY compares results for the same time period in different years (e.g., this March vs. last March). MoM compares with the previous month.
